Land Acknowledgement

As we gather here today in the City of Lethbridge, it  is essential to begin by acknowledging the rich history and culture of  the Blackfoot people of the Canadian Plains, whose lands we stand on.    
 

We pay our sincere respect to the Blackfoot people-honoring their  past, present, and future, while recognizing and respecting their  cultural heritage, beliefs, and profound relationship to the land.    
 

It is also important to note that the City of Lethbridge is home to  the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3, adding further layers of  diversity to our community.
