ACSL offers a variety of services, including education, support, and community development. These services can help people connect across cultures and overcome barriers to inclusion.
Education
- Language instruction: Teaching the language and culture of an ethnocultural community
- Community education: Providing information about Canadian culture and life
- Anti-racism programming: Working to eliminate discrimination and improve relations between communities
Support
- Settlement assistance: Helping newcomers with housing, interpretation, and social services
- Employment assistance: Helping people find jobs and prepare for the job market
- Mentoring: Providing guidance and support to newcomers
- Translation and interpretation: Helping people communicate across languages
- Social Isolation: By working together, the problems associated with social isolation can be reduced and others will be protected from becoming socially isolated. We have a wonderful volunteers that would help seniors, adults and children with social isolation
Community development
- Capacity-building: Helping people from disadvantaged communities overcome isolation
- Community bonding: Helping immigrants form community connections
- Workplace diversity: Helping businesses and organizations create welcoming and equitable workplaces
At ACSL we also advocate to preserve and promote a community's culture, identity, and traditions.
